Narrative HIFI (We, HIFI) are serious about digital rights and everyone’s right to privacy. This has been, and will continue to be, at the forefront in maintaining this site. This notices describes the actions we have taken in this regard.
OUR USE OF COOKIES AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES
HIFI does not use tracking, analytic, advertising, or “user experience” services, nor do we participate in affiliate program. HIFI uses only what is necessary to share previous work, and to offer a contact form for anyone who wishes to send us an email.
THIRD PARTIES
In order to share with you examples of video and audio work, HIFI uses the APIs provided by Vimeo and Soundcloud to embed a video and audio player. We, unfortunately, have no control over their privacy practices, but understand them to be reasonable and relevant. Soundcloud’s cookie policy in regards to this API can be found here, and Vimeo’s can be found here.
This site is built using WordPress’s open source software. If you’re interested, their code can be found on their Github page.
Kindly note that HIFI has no access to any personal or non-personal information that may be collected by Soundcloud, Vimeo, or WordPress, nor do we wish to.
TYPES OF PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
The scenario under which your information may be collected is if you choose to submit a message using the built-in contact form, found within the “contact” page. The information you enter into the form will be processed only if you hit “send”, and grant permission by checking the consent box. This information is labeled clearly in each form field, such as your email address and content of the message itself. Beyond this, HIFI deals with no other personal information.
LEGAL BASES FOR USE
As outlined above, the communication information you may choose to share is used for strictly communication purposes.
RETENTION, STORAGE, AND SECURITY
Your information, if you choose to share it, is temporarily stored to ensure proper functionality. This information is stored on a server operated by Flokinet, and is located in Finland. We chose Flokinet as our hosting provider because of their aggressive support for freedom of speech, privacy, and transparency.
YOUR RIGHTS
You have the right to request copy of the personal information held by HIFI at any time, and may request any changes to your personal information that we may have. We believe that the protections provided under the GDPR should apply to everyone, and for this reason we respond to requests regardless of jurisdiction. Please note that these actions are applicable if you have chosen to send a message through HIFI, and submit your requests within 24 hours of doing so. After this time, HIFI literally will not have any personal information to share or change.
